Mushin Budo Martial Arts opened it's doors in 2009. Our Studio is in Erie,Pa. The Head Instructor is Master Matthew Durant. Master Durant has over 40 years experience in the Martial Arts. He holds rankings in Karate,Aiki Jutsu, Nakamura Batto Do, and Ryu Sei Ken Kenjutsu. He is the State Representative for the International Batto Do Shizan Association.

Our other Instructors are Sensei Joe Lombardo 2nd Degree Black Belt in Karate Do and Iai Jutsu in Erie,Pa.,  and Sensei Josh Blockus 2nd degree Black Belt in Karate Do and Iai Jutsu in Exeter, Pa.

At Mushin Budo we strive to teach the traditional values of the Martial Arts. Courtesy,discipline, respect for others and one's self,self control. We are not a school which emphasizes how quickly a student attains rank. Instead we emphasize that a student gets from the Martial Arts what they put into it. There are no set times for ranking. A student progresses only when they meet the set qualifications for ranking. We do not emphasize competition. Instead we emphasize the Self Defense aspect of the Martial Arts. If you are looking for a Martial Arts school at which you will earn a Black Belt in six months, our schools are not what you are looking for. But if you truly want to earn your rank, and want the traditions we try to instill, then we are the right school for you.
